For this theatre adaptation of The Smartest Giant in Town, I transformed the visual world of the children’s book into a physical stage environment. The central concept was a giant storybook that opens into the performance, turning illustration into architecture. I designed and modeled the large-scale book, ensuring it could stand, open, and operate safely as a scenographic element. The pages were fully re-created through graphic design, adapting the original illustrations to a theatrical scale with colours and compositions that read clearly under stage lighting. This project reflects my multidisciplinary practice: combining architecture (scale and structure), product design (fabrication and durability), and visual design (layout and illustration). The result is an oversized book that acts as both functional set and playful storytelling device.
